Full: The Full edition includes all features of the Standard edition plus madVR, DC-Bass Source Mod and Plugin for 3D video decoding (H.264 MVC).
This package is recommended for normal users.
Standard: The Standard edition includes all features of the Basic edition plus MPC Video Renderer, MediaInfo Lite and MPC-HC.
Basic is the only edition that includes neither MPC-HC nor MediaInfo Lite. It only consists of LAV Filters (for video demultiplexing and audio and video decoding), DirectVobSub (for subtitle decoding), Codec Tweak Tool, Icaros ThumbnailProvider and Icaros PropertyHandler.
Basic: The Basic edition is the smallest version and enables a Microsoft Windows computer to play the contents of AVI, Matroska (MKV), MP4, Ogg, Flash Video (FLV) and WebM files, etc.
How can I enable the subs but still maintain the thumbails? By the way I checked mp4 on both 32-bit and 64-bit.There are four editions of the K-Lite Codec Pack, all free of charge. I prefer to have my videos as thumbnails instead of icons so that I can easily differentiate one video from another. However, when I do that, all my mp4 videos appear as icons instead of thumbnails. The French subtitles shown below are actually an ASS file labeled 004_French.ass I threw in to show.: I should also point out that I use Potplayer and it shows subtiltes in mp4 WITHOUT doing all this, automatically as well as picks up the Subtitles named the same as the video in the same folder as mentioned above. Use Media Info to check which codec is actually used in the video you are trying to watch. Notice there are MP41, MP42, MP43 and other MPEG4 that lists the MP4V on the right above those 3. Then go to K-lite -> configuration -> Video decoders (The Red Icon, NOT the VFW one) and ENABLE the MP4 settings. After you install K-lite there is a k-lite ->tools selection in start programs:ĭisable Windows Media Foundation MP4 settings:
